Who qualifies?

Motivated, physically fit and mechanically inclined are all good qualities to have when applying for an apprenticeship position.

What documents do I need?

1) Official High School Transcript.

Education requirements currently under review - please refer to Construction and Maintenance for requirements in the mean time.

2) Typed resume

3) Hand written letter stating why you want to be an electrician

Application Process:

A regular application intake will only be held by request from the JAC Council. Please consult the JAC web site for application updates.

  1. You will be asked to fill out an application and you will be given a J.A.C. reference number.
  2. Selection interview.
  3. Successful applicants will be contacted to attend four mandatory pre-apprenticeship safety courses:
    • Safety and Orientation
    • WHMIS - Workplace Hazardous Material Information System
    • Fall Protection
    • Materials and Tools Identification Course
  4. Upon successful completion of the above courses, the applicant will begin the pre-apprenticeship program (900 hours).

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot start work before completion of the safety courses!
